The Indo-Australian research Consortium
Taking cue from recent partnership agreements between the Prime Ministers of India and Australia, this consortium brings together leading researchers and scientists from Australia and India to tackle modern challenges in the field of Mining and Mineral availability. Academicians, Scientists and Policy makers from leading institutions of both countries have come together to use their multi-disciplinary expertise in solving various urgent environmental matters relevant to both countries including Critical minerals, reclamation and restoration, wealth from waste, climate change, and sustainable mining.
Vision
To act as nodal centre for Indo-Australian critical mineral R&D and to be a positive force in reducing the international skewness in critical minerals global supply chain.
Needs
- Critical Minerals are irreplaceable metals and nonmetals that are used widely in diverse aspects of our daily lives such as communication, renewable energy, defence equipment and electronic gadgets.
- Supply and production of these minerals is highly biased and saturated in hands of few countries.
- Recent agreements between governments of India and Australia ties both countries in a unique partnership to develop research, production, and supply chain of critical minerals in India and Australia.
- This hub brings researchers, academicians, and industrial partners, of India and Australia together to achieve advancement in critical minerals research and management, and address the challenges with a multi-disciplinary approach.
